How Sweet it is

What a day of New York Giant pride. Vick got hit almost every single play. Eli Manning had an incredible game and threw for four TD's. Coughlin jumped for joy like a little kid. On defense there were 11 hats on the ball almost every play. Not to mention the amazing goal line stand. Such a great day to be a Giants fan.

I can go on and on about the awesome efforts from each person in this game. So instead lets talk about the post-game chatter and what this game means. For starters Vick immediately followed the game claiming he doesn't get roughing penalties like quarterbacks that stay in the pocket like Brady or Brees. I honestly can't say that's entirely untrue. They have been very sensative to quarterback protection these days (not saying I agree with that rule), but it seems they let Vick take some shots. The way I see it that's the price you play for being an insanely mobile quarterback. You have to give the defense something. The NFL has done a good job of removing the fun of kickoffs but for the love of Jesus they can't remove the beauty of defense too. Long story short swallow you're ego because it's freaking football.

Speaking of ego's I don't think anyone is giving Eli the respect he deserves for his performance. All you hear about is Vick and how the poor guy bruised his hand and blah blah blahhh. Eli Manning completed 70% of his passes, threw 4 touchdowns, had no turnovers, and had a quarterback rating of 140. Don't hear sportscenter mentioning much about that AT ALL. "Yeah Eli had a pretty good game," was the only thing about Eli I think they said at all. And yet all of that crap aside you do not hear Eli complain once to anybody. He checks his ego at the door, all he cares about is winning. He is the definition of humble and is personally one of my favorite Giants of all time.

It's very clear that motivation was the key to this victory. After coming out strong to start the game, the Giants we're hanging around down 16-14 going into the fourth quarter. After that you could see the motivation in their eyes. The big stop by Boley on fourth down at midfield started it. Then came Cruz's grab between two defenders to follow. From that moment on they were not letting down. EVERYBODY WAS JACKED UP. I wanted to send Coughlin on some blitzes. I think he would have got to Vick and pumped his fist no different than Pierre-Paul. The Eagles had nothing. We simply wanted it more and it was because of those nights where we all lay awake at night thinking of that horrible game last December. Revenge sure is sweet man.

So what does this game mean? Well I think we just witnessed this team come together. They are realizing their strengths and weaknesses, and the motivation to beat those Eagle bastards was the fuel to the fire. We are in store for another season of competive Giants football. We are coming together and have seen what we're capable of. We just beat the ever living crap out of Vick in Philadelphia for their teams home opener. And did Desean Jackson even play??? What did he have like 2 catches if that? Awesome, simply awesome.

Arizona next week. Lets keep this winning streak going.
